I had a 33 foot sailboat for 12 years, I had a Byliner speedboat before, and before that I rented a boat. Although I am a very experienced sailor, I would not even want to trade more than 36 feet for a sailboat because I would not be able to operate it safely with a woman with no sailing experience and a five-year-old child.
